What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
Neighbourhood planning gives a community direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area.
Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community.
A Neighbourhood Plan sets out where new homes, shops and offices might be built, and allows a community a say on what those new buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided.
In Shropshire Much Wenlock and Shifnal have already gone through the process of producing a Neighbourhood Plan. In our area, a Neighbourhood Plan would be a natural development from the current Broseley Town Plan and would, if successfully implemented, offer additional planning protection for the area.
Here is an update you on how the Broseley Neighbourhood Plan is progressing – following recent consultations with the relevant statutory bodies, Shropshire Council will be commencing 8 weeks of consultation between 23rd July and 17th September 2021
It will be available on Shropshire Councils webpage, and a hard copy will be available in Broseley, at the library When the consultation is live.
